ideas: pieces of floating papers just my random thoughts on a sunday night :) when i was younger, i loved playing outside just when rain was about to fall. this was probably because i lived in a rural community, where there were always pieces of paper lying around. so when the wind that precedes rain blows, those papers would be all over the sky. more often than not, when the wind became a little less boisterous, a piece of paper would come down to my height and fly right above my head. i could touch it and kind of dangle it in the air. however, after some minutes, the wind would become stronger, and that piece of paper that was right above my head would fly away into the sky and completely beyond my reach. just like that, my fun was over, unless another piece of paper came down. i would stare at the pieces of paper in the sky. till another rainy day! looking back at it now, i should have just tied a string to that paper and used it as a kite. argh. ideas are just like those pieces of paper. they are everywhere on normal days, and they look meaningless. but on rainy days, when the wind is strong enough, they float, and you can suddenly see them right above you. more often than not, if you're lucky, they will actually come right above you. that moment when they are right at your reach and you can literally touch them is what's called a "window of opportunity." it's the time when you can play around with them and derive utility from them. if you fail to, they're gone. you might get lucky and they come back down again, but more often than not, you won't. why? because those papers are only meaningful while the rain hasn't fallen yet. once rain starts, those papers become moist and they can't fly anymore, no matter how strong the wind. ideas are only useful at a certain time. they have a limited window, and once that window closes, it's over. imagine trying to build google now. 20-25 years ago, that piece of paper flew right above larry and sergey, and they utilized it to create what's now a trillion dollar company. the same could be said for gates and microsoft, zuck and facebook, jeff and amazon, and multiple others. big companies came to be because when those pieces of paper flew over those founders' heads, they utilized it and didn't waste that window of opportunity. at this point in time, the idea of creating a new google, microsoft, amazon, or facebook is almost certainly useless. that window of opportunity is now closed. there is good news though: a new window has opened with the advent of artificial intelligence. thanks to the wind called ai, there are now different pieces of paper floating in the sky. if there ever was a perfect time to found a company, build a startup, or do something big, it's right now. the next big companies, the maang type, will probably be built in the next 3-5 years. perhaps you're lucky enough that a paper is right above you right now. don't let this window close without using it. this kind of window only comes once in decades. act. unconventional thinker. 23:07 est.
